Age
Age - effect on training speed
The age of a player affects the effectiveness of training.
- Younger players (aged 17-20) are able to develop their primary skills (eg. batting, bowling, wicket keeping, fielding) faster than older players.
- Older players (aged 24-30) are able to develop their secondary skills (eg. concentration, consistency) a fair bit quicker than younger players.
It is much more efficient to train younger players as their primary skills will increase faster than training older players.
You can train older players if you want to boost their secondary skills levels - but you should weigh up whether it would be better to spend that training net on a younger player that you can get some $$$ back on the transfer market?
Stamina skill level decay - due to old age
The player's level of stamina will start to decay due to old age - this process starts when the player is 33 years old.
No other skills decay due to age (although this 'feature' may be implemented in 2012/13).
For more info on stamina decay rates, go to the Player Skills page.
Age (and wage) increase
Players have a 'birthday' on the very last Friday of the season.
All players in BT have a birthday on that same day - player age increases by one.
Wages also increase on this day.
