Tip:

If the weather looks good for batting and you win the toss, bat first.

Weather

The weather has a significant effect on the performance of all batsmen and bowlers.

Before the match starts, you can check out the weather forecast for the next few days by by:

  1. click on your Match link
  2. click on the Ground the match will be played at
  3. click on the Region that the ground is located in

On the region page you will get a weather forecast for today and the next 5 days.
Unfortunately Battrick forecasters are as bad as the rest of them, so it can change from day to day. The chances of getting any sort of weather is exactly the same in every region.

Certain types of player will flourish in certain weather conditions, although may suffer in others.

  • Overcast & cold: not a bad batting pitch
  • Partially cloudy: helps spinners, helps medium bowlers
  • Partially cloudy & humid: helps all bowlers, harder to make runs
  • Partially cloudy & windy: helps spinners, helps medium bowlers
  • Sunny: good for fast bowlers and spinners, good for making runs

On the bright side, there is no rain in Battrick!
You'll never see the covers come out :)

The weather will affect the match attendance to a degree.
