BT20 League series
Each BT20 league contains 12 teams so you will play 11 games in total.
At the end of a season the team ranked 1st in the division is declared the division winner and is promoted automatically.
The teams ranked 2nd - 8th will remain as they are in exactly the same division for the next season.
The teams ranked 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th are automatically relegated, without playoff matches.
League positions are decided by the number of points scored. if this is equal, net run rate is used as a decider.
BT20 League - match points
Each match, your team earns points to determine where they sit on the League ladder.
When determining ladder position - points are considered first, then Net Run Rate.
Match result points
- WIN - 4 points to winning side.
- TIE - 2 points to each side.
- LOSS - 0 points to losing side.
Net Run Rate
The concept of net run rate involves taking the opponents' final run rate away from the team's run rate. The only complication is that if a team is bowled out, it is not the balls faced which their score is divided by; instead the full quota of overs is used (e.g. 50 overs for a One Day International and 20 overs for a Twenty20 match). In the One Day league series in BT, runs and overs bowled are summed together throughout the season to compare teams in a league table, as the following formula shows:
Net Run Rate = (total runs scored / total balls faced) - (total runs conceded / total overs bowled)
Match attendance and Gate Receipts
Gate receipts are split 50:50 between the teams.
Attendance at the match reflects the fact that visiting fans come to games as well - details of both teams will be used in calculating game attendance although the weighting will be towards the home team.
Attendance at BT20 matches is generally fairly low - you won't make money out of this competition...
